My comp is pretty excited for the new year too but actually is mostly sad because she doesnt want her mission to end so soon. aww! She still has a while but its going to go by pretty fast. On the first day of the year I said, "Hermana!! 2016! 2016! Wahoo!!!" and she said in response, "No. No Wahoo." She was super serious. It was hilarious!
May this new year bring more blessings to everyone!!
This week , like i said, was full of emotions. It was a pretty hard week for me but it was also full of amazing experiences. It was hard this week with Spanish but in the same way that I was frustrated I was able to experience the gift of tounges. I have been reminded this week of something I learned in the MTC. In the song, Be Still My Soul, it says that the Lord is on our side. And goodness is this true! He is truly on our side and I know this because he helps me every minute of everyday. Its incredible.
This week was also a week full of sickness..... yeah. haha Sunday night I found out that I , along with my comp, had zica. Its nothing too crazy but yeah. Just a lot of red dots everywhere and you just feel uncomfortably hot all the time. Which is fun in all the heat we have here right now. haha. It was fine tho. Then on the 31, I had the most awful stomach ache. I wish I could say that we were able to work that day but I really couldnt. It was sad... Im pretty sure it was just something that I ate. Ew. It was such a blessing because we were able to spend most of the night with a cute small family in our ward and they took great care of me. I was soo grateful! The people here are so nice and so willing to help take care of the missionaries. Its amazing!
That night of course there was a TON of fireworks yet again! Haha It was hilarious! There were a TON! haha It was awesome! Wahoo! Feliz Año!
We are having a bit of a rough time in our area at the moment because we truly do not have very many investigators... like close to none. Its so hard. We work so hard all day to find new investigators and often times the rewards are not instantly seen. but! They are definetly there! We were able to find a few this week as we did a ton of street contacting this week! This is going to be something we do for a good little while. We have to contact everyone! And I know that this is going to help us. We are going to find nuevos! I know it! We are truly trying all the we can think of in order to keep working hard and making every moment count. I have been reminded this week with my companion that every moment here in the mission is the Lords time. This time isnt for us but its for the Lord and his marvalous work. My compa is so dedicated to this work and I hope that I can be like her. She is such a great example to me! She shows me more everyday of how I can better focus on the mission and on the Lord. Ive got a lot to learn but its an amazing process. Each day we work with patience and faith that we can see miracles and I can truly testify that we see miracles everyday.
This week was so great and I am truly learning some pretry hard life lessons everyday but it is truly such a blessing. Its amazing! I feel so blessed to be here on MY mission and i hope I can use every day to show the Lord how grateful I am for it.
Thanks for all of the love and support! Take care! Enjoy all the blessings that the Lord is giving you everyday! haha Enjoy everything! Enjoy hot showers! Enjoy your washing machines! Enjoy your families! Enjoy the snow (if you have it. haha)!
Love you all!
Con amor,
Hna Connolly
